We try and cover as many Gopher teams as possible, but sometimes between real life duties and other things we just are stretched too thin. So hopefully in the future we can give the now 3-0 Minnesota Golden Gophers women’s basketball team some more love. They defeated the VCU Rams 108-63 on Thursday night to move to 3-0.
Kenisha Bell had her second consecutive double-double with 20 points and 10 assists, and Destiny Pitts had the first of her career with 20 points and 12 rebounds.
Senior All-Big Ten player Carlie Wagner added 17 points to Bell and Pitts' team-high tallies.
The highlights are below. Minnesota hosts Boston College at 7:00 on Sunday, and those who have a ticket to the Men’s Basketball game against Western Carolina at 3:30 can stick around and watch the women’s game for free.
