The opponent this morning will be a little bit more challenging than Alabama A&M. In fact the next three games get increasingly more difficult before we get a couple of December Big Ten games. But up first is the Minutemen from UMass. It has been a long time since the days of Marcus Camby leading them as one of the best teams in the country. Let’s look at what it will take for the Gophers to come out on top this morning in New York.
KEYS TO A GOPHER WIN
- Jordan Murphy Stays a Beast - Seriously he has been unstoppable this season. Just don’t stop doing what you do, Big Man.
- Hit the Offensive Glass - UMass is pretty good at defensive rebounding. Breaking that stat a little bit will help break their will en route to a win.
- Contain Luwane Pipkins - The Sophomore guard is averating ovder 22 points per game. Nobody else on the roster is hitting double-digits. Stop Pipkins.
PREDICTION
This will be no walk in the park, UMass has a couple shooters, they have some size and they’ll be ready to face the 14th ranked Gophers. I still think our starting lineup is superior and this one falls in our favor.
Minnesota - 80
UMass - 69
