Jordan Murphy has been absolutely dominating in the first few weeks of the college basketball season. The Minnesota Golden Gophers haves played 7 games and in those 7 games, Murphy has recorded a double-double each time. The junior is having a monster season already averaging 22 points and 12 rebounds per game.
The result of his play has netted him back-to-back-to-back Big Ten Player of the Week awards. This is the first time it has happened since 2009 when Evan Turner won the award in 3 consecutive weeks.

This past week was a three-game week for Murphy and the final game was against a ranked Alabama team where he scored 19 points to go with 14 rebounds and 3 blocked shots.
He is the second Gopher ever to win this award three times in the same season (and he still has the majority of the season to win it more). The only other Gopher to win this three times in the same season was Quincy Lewis back in the 1998-99 season.
An impressive start to the season for Murphy and a great start to the season for the team. Minnesota is 7-0, ranked 12th in the country and has a premier matchup against #10 Miami in the B1G/ACC Challenge on Wednesday.
