$5 Bits of Broken Chair-ity Fundraiser Event

The Chair makes its triumphant return

After a one year hiatus the $5 Bits of Broken Chair trophy will once again be up for grabs between Minnesota and Nebraska. In a sport where fan bases tout their superiority over their rivals, both the Gopher and Husker fans have put their differences aside to team up to save “The Chair”. Through the joint effort, a “chair-ity” fundraiser to raise money for The Team Jack Foundation and the University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital has been launched. Whether you are a fan of the Gophers or Huskers this is a worthy cause!

The first fundraiser event was held this past weekend in Lincoln. There was an amazing turnout, local news coverage and a lot of money raised. This Thursday, November 9th, the fundraiser shifts to Minneapolis as The Chair will be on hand at Stub and Herb’s in Stadium Village. An alumni pep band will be playing, so be prepared to sing The Rouser. Items will be auctioned off with all proceeds going towards the “chair-ity”. This will be a great event with a chance to help those in need, while enjoying a beverage or two with your fellow Gopher fans. If you are unable to attend, please consider making a donation at https://www.youcaring.com/teamjackfoundationuofmnchildrenshospital-945632 They are currently $900 short of reaching their goal of $5,000. Let’s show our Gopher spirit and blow past that number!
