New, 21 comments

Signing Day is here for basketball and Daniel Oturu has signed his LOI

The early signing period began today for college basketball and the Minnesota Gophers have officially landed the biggest recruit in their very talented 2018 class.

Daniel Oturu fills the void at center and has the potential to be a fantastic Gopher.

What We Know

Height: 6’10”
Weight: 220
Stars: 4
Rank: 53
Commitment Story

From his ESPN Eval...

Long and athletic post with a great upside. Starting to realize his potential. Runs the floor very well. Offensively he scored mostly in the paint and is developing a face up game and can hit 12 to 15 footers. He is a good rebounder that is effective boarding outside his area due to his length. Daniel has a nice touch and is a solid scorer on the low block. Defensively he is a good shot blocker and protects the paint.

One of the top centers in the class of 2018. Oturu is incredibly athletic and was a monster during his junior season blocking shots, rebounding and scoring. Much like Omersa, Oturu will come in with an immediate opportunity to play, likely even start, after the graduation of Reggie Lynch.

We will keep an eye on Oturu during his senior season and are thrilled he chose to stay home to lead the Gophers while dominating the Big Ten paint over the next 4 seasons.
