The Gophers hit the road for their first conference road game of the year. They face Nebraska who is struggling this year under Tim Miles. The Cornhuskers have a 6-3 record having lost to Michigan State by 29 this past weekend and also dropping games to St. John’s and Central Florida.
Let us see what it will take for the Gophers to come out of Lincoln with a 2-0 conference record.
KEYS TO A GOPHER WIN
- Crash the Offensive Glass - Let’s start by taking advantage of what Nebraska will likely give us. They suck at defensive rebounding (321st nationally in Def Reb%). Take advantage of this and get plenty of second chance opportunities. I’m looking at you Jordan Murphy.
- Execute Offense - Nebraska is the worst defensive team (statistically) in the conference. Execute the offense, stay within what we do well and don’t do dumb things. Simple right? Should be, for this veteran Gopher squad.
- Use the Bench - This is a game where some of the guys on the bench should be able to contribute and perform well. Use this opportunity to get more live-action reps for Hurt, Fitz and Harris. Their development is going to be crucial to the Gopher’s Big Ten championship hopes.
PREDICTION
I’d be shocked if we lose this game. Nebraska is just not very good this year
