The NFL Draft is less than a week away. That’s hard to believe, but the first round begins next Thursday from Philadelphia. Minnesota will have at least one player drafted for the fourth consecutive season, and if the fates all come together could in fact eclipse the two players drafted in 2014 and 2016 to be the second best draft class in the last 10 years. Jalen Myrick should be a lock to be selected in the NFL Draft after his blazing 4.28 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine. Then it will be a waiting game to see if either Damarius Travis or Johah Pirsig get their name called. Several other Gophers should get undrafted free agent contracts including Mitch Leidner, Jack Lynn, and Drew Wolitarsky. Below is a summary of several seven round NFL Mock Drafts that have one or more Gopher players being selected.

Dallas Cowboys 247 Site

Yeah...this one probably isn’t the most accurate of the group...but its included because whomever wrote this REALLY likes Jalen Myrick. This mock has Myrick going off the board with the #60 overall pick late in the 2nd round to the Dallas Cowboys. This would be great....but I don’t think there is any way that happens which you compare this mock to several that follow.

CBSSports.com

RJ White with CBSSports.com put together this mock posted Friday morning. He sees the Detroit Lions trading back into the end of the third round and selecting Myrick with pick #106.

WalterFootball.com

Walterfootball.com updated their mock on Wednesday. They see Myrick being selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with selection #125 in the fourth round.

Drafttek.com

In their April 20th mock they have Myrick going off the board with selection #197 in the sixth round to the Arizona Cardinals.

DraftSite.com

Here is where things start to get interesting. In the draftsite.com mock, Myrick isn’t even the first Gopher off the board! They have the Cincinnati Bengals selecting Jonah Pirsig with selection # 153 in the fifth round. Then, six selections later at #159 Myrick goes to the Baltimore Ravens.

USAToday.com

USAToday.com ‘s draftwire subsite has a mock put together by Luke Easterling and dated Monday the 17th. He is a fan of the Gophers. He has Myrick going to Detroit with pick #165 in the fifth round, Pirsig going to the Buffalo Bills with pick #195 in the sixth round, and Damarius Travis going to the Pittsburgh Steelers with pick #248 in the seventh round.

NFL.com

Chad Reuter of NFL.com posted his seven round mock Friday morning. he is by far the least bullish on Myrick. He has him going to the Kansas City Chiefs with selection #218—the last pick in the sixth round and rejoining Eric Murray. He also has Pirsig staying home and being drafted by the Minnesota Vikings with selection #232 in the seventh round. In his list of priority undrafted free agents he has Travis, but no other Gophers.

We will need to wait most likely until next Saturday to see which former Gophers hear their name announced, and to see just where they will try and start a professional career. We will have full draft preview capsules of all the potential Gopher draftees next week.
