Minnesota Softball’s Kendyl Lindaman named NCAA Catcher of the Year!

Another week, another honor for the Gophers standout frosh.

Minnesota Athletics

The Minnesota Gophers now have two positional National Players of the year! Freshman Kendyl Lindaman’s breakout season now includes being named the Division I NFCA Sports Diamond Catcher of the Year! Lindaman joins fellow battery mate Sara Groenewegen (who was named NCAA Pitcher of the Year two weeks ago) in earning NPOY honors. Kendyl is the first ever Gopher to win the award, which is well deserved.

In case you’ve started to lose track of all of the accolades Lindaman has piled up this season, Gopher Sports has you covered:

The honor caps off a plethora of awards won by Lindaman this season. She was a unanimous NFCA Division I All-American, was named both the Big Ten Player and Freshman of the Year, was the first ever Big Ten player ever to be named a Schutt Sports/NFCA Division I National Freshman of the Year top-3 finalist, earned NFCA All-Region first-team honors and broke a Big Ten record with eight Freshman of the Week honors.

We’re looking forward to Lindaman’s continuing career in Maroon & Gold.

HATS OFF TO KENDYL!
