Our countdown of the days until the kickoff of the 2017 Minnesota Gophers football season has reached 46 days. Minnesota’s #46 is redshirt sophomore defensive end Winston Delattiboudere. Delattiboudere is from Baltimore, Maryland and recorded two tackles against his home state school last October.

Delattiboudere played in all thirteen games a year ago for the Gophers and ended the season with 15 tackles, 3.5 for a loss, and 1.5 sacks. He earned his first collegiate start against the Iowa Hawkeyes where he recorded his first fumble recovery.

Winston is expected to start at one of the defensive end spots this season opposite the new rush end position. With the transfer of Gaelin Elmore, DeLattiboudere is the lone defensive end with starting experience returning. He has had a good offseason from all accounts and will be needed to step up to keep the Gopher defense where it was last season.

The countdown continues tomorrow with another of the Gophers stud sophomores.
