Florida cornerback Chris Williamson transfers to Minnesota

Two SEC transfers in a week? YES PLEASE.

NCAA Football: South Carolina at Florida Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

This is an elite new world we’re living in. One where multiple SEC defenders transfer to play at Minnesota in the same week. The latest to make the move? Florida cornerback Chris Williamson, who committed to Coach Fleck last night.

Once again, this is a BIG deal for Minnesota. Williamson was a heavily recruited high 3 star coming out of high school with offers from: Florida, Michigan, North Carolina, Georgia, Notre Dame, Virginia Tech, Virginia, Cal, Vanderbilt, Kentucky, Northwestern, Purdue, Wake Forest, and Iowa State (among many other G5 schools).

Williamson played in 9 games in 2016, starting one. He will sit out the 2017 season and will have two years of eligibility when he hits the field in 2018.
