This weekend the Gophers hosted a camp and then a summer BBQ for a number of commits and recruits. The result of this weekend has been a handful of new commits deciding to Row the Boat. Included on that list if another defensive prospect out of Georgia.
Brealen Oliver is the 5th Georgia native to commit to the Gophers in this 2018 class to go along with 8 kids on the current roster from the Peach State. He’s also the fourth linebacker recruiter in this current class.
Oliver had offers from Iowa St, Indiana, Colorado, Wake Forest, West Virginia and Rutgers; with interest from another of other higher profile schools. But this weekend he was in town and decided to pull the trigger on a Gopher offer.
Being that the Gophers now have 4 linebacker commits, I would not expect that there will be another on in this class. It does seem as though all (or most) of the linebackers in the 2018 class are more suited to be on the outside, but I don’t see them taking a 5th (even if it’s a MLB) in this class.
