The NFL Preseason schedule began in earnest last night and several Gophers showed off. Many of these players will still be in a fight to make the final roster, but its nice to see them making waves early.
Briean Boddy-Calhoun
The Cleveland Browns cornerback is a lock to make the final roster and made a really impressive stop on 4th and goal to get the Browns the ball back last night against the New Orleans Saints:

De’Vondre Campbell
The Atlanta Falcons linebacker made a great interception last night against the Miami Dolphins.
Don't forget about 'Dre!

What an INT by @Came_Along_Way!#ATLvsMIA pic.twitter.com/rZ1lP7OBpY
He spend some time talking to the media after the game as well:
What was one improvement @Came_Along_Way made this offseason?
— Atlanta Falcons (@AtlantaFalcons) August 11, 2017
Lasik eye surgery.
It surely helped him make an INT Thursday night. pic.twitter.com/Jx5uoKwwSZ
Kj Maye
The New England Patriots wide out is not likely to make the final cuts for the 53-man roster. But he will have one hell of a memory from the first preseason game at least.
K.J. Maye, who is literally the 90th man on the roster, scored the game-tying TD. Gotta a doozy here.

Maxx Williams
We don’t have any highlights for you, but Maxx was back in action last night after returning from a rare knee surgery. And he was making a few nice plays for the Baltimore Ravens as well.
Maxx Williams with a nice block to help spring Allen or 8. Back from rare (for football player) knee surgery, kind of forgotten about at TE.

Damarius Travis
The undrafted free agent for the New England Patriots did what he needed to do last night in his first NFL preseason game to progress towards making the roster. Played on the kickoff coverage team and looked good.
Kick coverage unit, for those interested: Richards, Rivers, Grissom, King, Cyrus, Langi, Coleman, Freeny, Damarius Travis, Jonathan Jones

Jalen Myrick
The 7th round pick of the Jacksonville Jaguars ended up with two tackles in his first preseason game against the Patriots last night, but otherwise didn’t do anything impressive.

MarQuies Gray
The Miami Dolphins tight end had a good preseason opener recording three catches for 26 yards on one drive in the first quarter last night.
marqueis gray with three catches on this drive, looking sharp so far #ATLvsMIA #Dolphins

For those asking, it's really hard to evaluate the offense at this time. One standout: TE Marqueis Gray. I'm liking his work tonight.

Ra’Shede Hageman, Issac Fruechte, Marcus Sherels, Jack Lynn andHendrick Epke all saw some action last night but did not have any notable performances.
More Gophers will see their first preseason action in the next few days including Eric Decker, Eric Murray, Cedric Thompson and Jonah Pirsig.
