Former Minnesota Golden Gophers cornerback Briean Boddy-Calhoun is now in his second year with the Cleveland Browns. The Browns played the New York Giants in a preseason game on Monday Night Football last night. Calhoun is getting lots of attention—mostly in a negative fashion for a tackle he made on Odell Beckham Jr in the second quarter of the game last night.

Beckham limped off the field and appeared injured after the play. But then again Beckham does not lack the ability to create drama. He did jog into the locker room at the end of the game.

Since the Browns/Giants game was the only NFL preseason game last night, lots of eyes were on it, and lets just say a lot of current and former NFL players are not big fans of Boddy-Calhoun at the moment:
Not a dirty hit AT ALL. Just unnecessary especially in preseason. #Odell #Giants pic.twitter.com/pCjyMXJHHm

This is why I hate preseason Bullshit...

Odell hit was ugly. Sounds like he'll be ok, but this is why guys like Aaron Donald and Le'Veon Bell hold out

That cheap ass low hit on Odell smh

Not coincidentally most of the players with the strongest negative reactions were fellow wide receivers. But a few media members were trying to get pulled over by the hot take police as well.
If you do this in a pre-season game, you should be suspended for the ENTIRE REGULAR SEASON. pic.twitter.com/f67pxykqqB

Dude went right at Beckham's knee, unbelievably dirty hit. Uncalled for

BBC did get some defense from a few fellow defensive players:
It was a football play. I get it pre season maybe stay higher but ppl getting mad at the man for playing football. Hope OBJ is good tho!!

Clean hit but come on. Kid did his job, can't be mad at him. Couldn't have been me. I'll leave it at that https://t.co/SV8iUqhwec

In any case, it now appears Boddy-Calhoun’s profile is higher than ever. He will for sure see playing time this season for the Browns, but probably needs to watch his back more than ever because undoubtedly he will have a target on his back. But, if he keeps doing things like this, I don’t think any Browns fans may care about anything else:
Another week, another big play on the goal line for for @darthBoCa #NYGvsCLE pic.twitter.com/su36bj3O7s
