Minnesota’s Men’s track and field team won its fourth straight Border Battle title on Saturday. The team beat the Badgers 93-65, which seems like a beatdown. Minnesota had nine event titles and scored the maximum eight points in six events for finishing both first and second. Since the event returned to the schedule, the Gophers have won all four of the dual competitions.
Johnathan Webb had two individual titles and a relay title. He won both the 60 meters and the 200 meters as well as the opening leg of the 4x400 relay team.
All four Gopher competitors achieved personal records in the throw events. Jonathan Tharaldsen finished second in the shot put with a throw of almost 57 feet. Connor Rousemiller, Jon Nerdal, and Kieran McKeag have excellent names and all finished with career bests in the weight throw. Rousemiller threw the weight 62.05 feet, which is insane.
