Less than a month after being promoted to assistant head coach at Minnesota, defensive backs coach Mo Linguist is departing to coach defensive backs for new head coach Jimbo Fisher at Texas A&M. He is a native of Mesquite, Texas.

He leaves after coaching one season at Minnesota under P.J. Fleck. The secondary was plagued with injuries last season, so it is difficult to evaluate his coaching. But on the recruiting trail, Linguist was active in both Georgia and Texas, where the Gophers signed a combined six high school prospects in their latest recruiting class.
We will keep you updated on news regarding his replacement and if any other members of the current coaching staff depart for other programs.
