After completing 70.8% of his passes Friday night and throwing for 302 yards and 3 touchdowns, Tanner Morgan earned himself co-Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors. He shares the award with Rocky Lombardi (I only add that because it is a fantastic name).
The #B1GFootball Co-Freshmen of the Week are @MSU_Football QB Rocky Lombardi & @GopherFootball QB Tanner Morgan. Both threw for 300+ yards in their first career start. https://t.co/HxEV8Besnf pic.twitter.com/Va4vqoeTgS

This was Morgan’s first collegiate start. Passing for over 300 yards and over 70% completion is impressive. But his 67-yard strike to Rashod Bateman in the 4th quarter to regain the lead was just cold-blooded.
That freshman freshman connection!

Indiana scored 22 unanswered to tie it up, but @Tanner_Morg2 finds @R_bateman2 to give @GopherFootball a very late lead: pic.twitter.com/ngLIovYgOi
This was the second B1G Freshman of the Week honor earned by the Gophers this year, Mohamed Ibrahim earned this distinction as well after rushing for 157 yards at Ohio State.
