JUST THE FACTS
Northwestern took advantage of two first quarter Minnesota turnovers to jump to an early touchdown lead and a late, quick-strike drive by the Wildcat offense gave them their second touchdown of the half and a 13-7 lead at the break.
Blake Cashman made the defensive play of the half when he sacked Clayton Thorson for a 14-yard loss on a 4th down conversion attempt. The Gopher offense got their lone touchdown on the ensuing drive when Mohamed Ibrahim punched it in from the 1.
Two turnovers and a few too many dropped passes are holding the Gopher offense back today.
KEY STATS
- Blake Cashman doing everything. But it was the 14-yard sack on 4th down that really put the offense in position to score the tying touchdown. That and 10 tackles in the first half is pretty good too.
- Northwestern’s offense was 1/5 on third down against the Rossi defense.
- Tyler Johnson reached the 1,000 yard mark for the season.

To be honest, there wasn’t much to pick from. Time for Blake to change his best.
