Final regular season game with a lot on the line for the Gophers

The Gophers haven’t won Paul Bunyan’s Axe since 2003. Today winning the Axe would get them to bowl eligibility, completely alter the perception of year 2 of the PJ Fleck era. Can this Gopher team get their first road win since 2016 and get the Axe for the first time since before Facebook existed?

  • Zero turnovers - This has been such a huge problem for the Gophers and a barrier to wins. If you want to win on the road, beat a huge rival and get yourself to a bowl game, you can’t turn the ball over.

  • RB Jonathan Taylor - The Big Ten’s leading rusher who is closing in on 2,000 yards for the season.
  • LB TJ Edwards - One of the Big Ten leaders in tackles, tackles for loss and 3 sacks.

PREDICTION

I do this to my self every week. Convinced we won’t win and then around Friday afternoon I convince myself that we will. But until we actually in the Axe, I cannot pick the Gophers.
