Redshirt freshman wide receiver Demetrius Douglas was named Big Ten Special Teams Player of the Week. He helped the Minnesota Golden Gophers’ break Saturday’s border battle open with a 69-yard punt return for a touchdown against Wisconsin in the second quarter.

It was the first punt return touchdown of Douglas’ career at Minnesota, and the Gophers’ second of the season. Antoine Winfield, Jr. delivered the first against New Mexico State, which also earned him Big Ten Special Teams Player of the Week honors.
