Gabe Kalscheur was the big name freshman early in the season, but Daniel Oturu has quietly been dominating in the paint.
His game against North Carolina A&T was a career high with 20 points and also was a double-double with 11 rebounds. Oturu has had three consecutive double-doubles.
He is currently leading all Big Ten freshmen in rebounds and blocked shots.
The Gophers resume play with one more non-conference game on Sunday against Mount Saint Mary’s.
