It’s Senior Night for the Gophers, who will say goodbye to Nate Mason, Davonte Fitzgerald, Bakary Konate, and Gaston Diedhiou. It’s hard not to feel bad for Mason, who was looking forward to a cherry season on top of a very successful career. Instead he got a lunch pail full of horse manure hand-delivered to his doorstep, which is how we treat our best players around here.
Senior Night actually comes against a beatable opponent, as the Gophers face Iowa, who is in the mix for worst team in the conference. They beat Minnesota by 14 in Iowa City a few weeks ago, but are in the throes of a five-game losing streak. Can the Gophers make it six? They almost took down Bucky on the road, but we’ll see if they can muster any life against Fran’s collection of bozos.

Gopher basketball memory that doesn’t suck:

We see them again next week.
Prediction
KenPom actually likes the Gophers in this one, predicting a 2-point win, 84-82. I just hope we see a Francon 1 tonight.
