It’s been a tough season for true freshman point guard Isaiah Washington. The 4 star New York Mr. Basketball came to Minnesota with a lot of hype and expectations but struggled to translate his immense talent into a Big Ten ready game once he joined the Gophers. That’s what made his play against Michigan this past weekend (26 points on 11/16 shooting, six rebounds, and three assists) so enjoyable. It looks like he’s finally starting to make the transition we all hoped he would and it’s not just Minnesota fans who took notice:
Congrats to Isaiah on being named the Big Ten's top freshman last week! https://t.co/t838bSJc5w pic.twitter.com/8pbIj8SvfC

Congrats to Isaiah! Here’s hoping Jelly keeps making strides tomorrow night against Nebraska.
