On Friday the match ups for the 2018 Big Ten/ACC Challenge were announced. It has been known for a while that the Minnesota Golden Gophers would be heading on the road this season for their game, but we now know that the Gophers will head to Boston to face the Boston College Eagles. It will be the first ever meeting between the two maroon and gold schools in men’s basketball.

Boston College finished 19-16 a season ago. They went 7-11 in the ACC and lost in the first round of the NIT to Western Kentucky. BC lost to Nebraska in Lincoln in last year’s Challenge game. The Eagles will return almost their entire roster next season. Their one departure was leading scorer Jerome Robinson who declared for the NBA Draft after a junior season where he averaged 20.7 points per game. They will return second leading scorer Ky Bowman who declared for the draft but returned to school before the deadline. he averaged 17.6 points a season ago for the Eagles.
The Gophers matchup against the Eagles is just one of two on the first night of the challenge. Nebraska will head to South Carolina to take on the Clemson Tigers as well on Monday night. All 14 games of the Challenge will air on ESPN, ESPN2, or ESPNU. Exact networks and tip times will be announced later this year.
The rest of the matchups are below:
