Minnesota Football: P.J. Fleck surprised the team with tickets to Beyonce and Jay-Z

I guess there are perks to being located in Minneapolis

As excited as fans are for the start of fall camp, the practices leading up to the season opener can be a grind for the players. Which is why it is not uncommon for head coaches to surprise their teams with a fun activity that has nothing to do with football.

Penn State head coach James Franklin touted a below-the-belt bruise to the media that came courtesy of a paintball outing with his team.

Alabama head coach Nick Saban likes to take his players on an excursion to Lake Tuscaloosa, where he takes pleasure (as only Nick Saban can) in trying to flip them off an inner tube.

But Minnesota Golden Gophers head coach P.J. Fleck, as we all know by now, likes to go big. And he certainly spared no expense last night when he surprised the team with tickets to the Beyonce and Jay-Z concert at U.S. Bank Stadium.

As always, there was a video of Fleck springing the surprise:

You can guarantee that Fleck and co. will be using this as another selling point on the recruiting trail. As he says in his Tweet, there’s always something ELITE to do in the Twin Cities.
