Minnesota Football vs. Miami (OH): Staff Predictions

There is no dissension in the writing ranks this week.

Predictions time! Last week 5 of us were pessimistic and picked Fresno State. We’re happy to be wrong and take the first blemishes on our weekly picks record. This week? Everyone is thinking 3-0 and has Minnesota rolling over Miami.

The predictions

This week’s thoughts

GoAUpher: I think we see improved run game output (whether that’s because the OLine improves or Miami is worse than Fresno State is TBD. I think Annexstad completes over 60% again. And I think the defense puts on another nice performance with only minor breakdowns that serve as good film lessons. All in all, not a game where we’re ever overly worried.

WSR: This one gets ugly early and gets worse as it goes. The running game shows promise, the passing game looks sharp, and the defense discovers that Gus Ragland is nowhere near as good as Marcus McMaryion.

moew0018: Defense should be pretty dominate again but I see some cheap points being picked up either by second-stringers or another short field from a poorly placed turnover by the Gopher offense.

Season “record” so far

The optimists move into the lead.
