Halftime of Miami University at Minnesota Gophers 19-3

Gophers in control of this one through 2 quarters

NCAA Football: Miami (Ohio) at Minnesota Jesse Johnson-USA TODAY Sports

The Gopher defense opened the game forcing a 3-and-out followed the offense marching 66 yards in 13 plays to score the games first touchdown. Zack Annexstad threw a 7-yard pass to Tyler Johnson for his third touchdown pass of the year.

The two teams traded field goals.

Then Jacob Herbers, the punter, got the Gophers sparked when he pinned his second punt inside the Redhawk 5. The Gopher defense tackled Alonzo Smith inside the endzone for a safety.

Then the offense used a big screen by Bryce Williams and a pass interference to get back into scoring position. This time it was Seth Green to Tyler Johnson for the touchdown.

Yes, the 2nd quarter scoring surge was sparked by Herbers and Green!

And we sit at 19-3 heading into the locker room.
