All they do is win. The Minnesota Golden Gophers Dance Team won the Jazz Division at the Universal Dance Association 2019 College Nationals on January 20th and are now 19X Natty Champs! The Gophers reclaimed their crown after finishing second in both the jazz and pom divisions to Ohio State in 2018. The Buckeyes defended their title in the pom division and the Gophers once again took second place. Video of the two dance routines is below:
But that was not the only hardware coming home from the cheer and dance nationals. Goldy Gopher could not win his third mascot national championship in a row, but he did finish in a close second place behind Brutus Buckeye.
Proud of the head spinning rock show I put on! Stoked to win 2nd place in the nation. Congrats to my good buddy @Brutus_Buckeye on the win. #SkiUMah #UMNProud #RockTheHouseB1G @Brutus_Brigade pic.twitter.com/stGGL6hOUD— Goldy Gopher (@GoldytheGopher) January 19, 2019
The Gopher cheerleaders had success as well. The All Girl Cheer team took home second place and the Coed Cheer took home 10th place in the country! You can see the coed performance below!
Once again the Gopher cheer and dance teams prove they are tops in the nation! Ski-U-Mah!!
