ESPN’s Rece Davis has announced that former Minnesota Golden Gophers wide receiver Eric Decker will serve as guest picker for College GameDay. Airing tomorrow from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m, GameDay will be televised from Northrop Mall on the campus of the University of Minnesota, ahead of the No. 8-ranked Gophers’ showdown with the No. 12-ranked Wisconsin Badgers.
Decker was a homegrown talent for the Gophers, having attended Rocori High School in Cold Spring, Minnesota before signing with his home state school. He played wide receiver for Minnesota from 2006-09, and finished as the school leader in career receptions (227) and receiving yards (3,119), although Tyler Johnson needs only 108 yards to break that record.
After graduating from Minnesota, Decker was drafted by the Denver Broncos in the third round of the 2010 NFL Draft. He spent eight seasons in the NFL, playing for the Broncos, the New York Jets, and the Tennessee Titans. The Gopher alumnus amassed 439 receptions, 5,816 receiving yards, and 53 touchdowns over the course of his NFL career.
