No. 8 Minnesota Gophers vs. No. 12 Wisconsin Badgers: Staff Predictions

It all comes down to this

For the second consecutive week, GoAUpher could not be bothered to publish a predictions post, despite going to great lengths during the week to ensure everyone on our staff submitted a prediction. At press time, GoAUpher was reportedly drinking heavily in the tailgating lots, shadowboxing and shouting about fighting Lee Corso if he puts on a Badger head.

Well, the reason GoAUpher has been placed on a watch list by the University’s Parking and Transportation Services security is because the No. 8-ranked Minnesota Golden Gophers are about to do battle with the No. 12-ranked Wisconsin Badgers. College GameDay is in the house, and the whomever emerges victorious — between the Gophers and the Badgers, not an inebriated GoAUpher and an 84-year-old sports personality — will claim Paul Bunyan’s Axe and punch their ticket to the Big Ten Championship.

The Predictions:

Unfortunately, my graphic design skills are limited to MS Paint.

This Week’s Thoughts:

Ustreet: Snow aside, Minnesota’s passing game takes advantages of Wisconsin’s secondary. Jonathan Taylor fumbles a lot. Minnesota 31, Wisconsin 21.

gopherguy05: No turning back now. It’s time to make history. BETTER DEAD THAN RED! Minnesota 34, Wisconsin 28.

IowaGopher: I didn’t come this far to pick the Badgers at the end. Minnesota 27, Wisconsin 20.

WhiteSpeedReceiver: I’ve said all year that there’s nothing to worry about here. Our defense can handle their offense, and defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard has no clue how to stop our offense. Their only hope is a snow hurricane and food poisoning. Minneosta 42, Wisconsin 19.

GoAUpher: There is only one choice here. BETTER DEAD THAN RED! Minnesota 24, Wisconsin 21.

wildcat00: BETTER DEAD THAN RED! Minnesota 24, Wisconsin 21.

mowe0018: No blanking way I’m taking the Badgers. AWWWWW YEAH, BETTER DEAD THAN RED! Minnesota 31, Wisconsin 17.

HipsterGopher: Matching a score not seen in this rivalry since 1890, let’s go. NOTE: My bit for guessing the scores this year will be to match them up with previous Minnesota games. Minnesota 63, Wisconsin 0.

zipsofakron: I plan on having two heart attacks on Saturday. One in the final five minutes of the game and one after storming the field and hugging strangers. Minnesota 28, Wisconsin 24.

GopherNation: I’m very excited to keep the Axe home but so VERY excited to be going to Pasadena. Minnesota 99, Wisconsin 0.

Season “Records” So Far:

I don’t have an updated version of how everyone on staff has fared in their weekly predictions, but the only records that matter right now are 1) GoAUpher being 0-for-2 in publishing predictions posts the last two weeks, and 2) The Gophers being 11-1 after today.
