Your 3-4 Gophers are hosting Clemson for this year’s Big Ten / ACC Challenge game. The Gophers are currently riding a 3-game losing streak in the B1G/ACC Challenge with their last win coming over Clemson back in 2015. Can they take down the Tigers again?

KEYS TO A GOPHER WIN

Make 3s - If this isn’t the one and only key for the season, then I don’t know what would be. This team is shooting a ton of threes (maybe too many?) and if they make them at a decent percentage they can play with most teams. The problem so far is that they don’t make very many of them against better competition.

Offensive Rebounds - Quietly this is becoming a strength of this team. Getting extra possessions with an offensive rebound is huge, especially if we make the subsequent shot!

Take Care of the Ball - Clemson’s defense forces a lot of turnovers and we cannot play into that. Must take care of the ball and not be careless.

PREDICTION

I’m not all that impressed with this team and until they beat a P5 team, I won’t pick them to win one. Make threes and things get interesting. But this team is going to have to show improvement throughout the season and into the Big Ten portion of the schedule.
