Minnesota Football: Antoine Winfield Jr. and Carter Coughlin named All-Big Ten Defense

Both were unanimous selections by coaches and media

The Big Ten announced all-conference selections for defense and special teams this evening. Antoine Winfield Jr. was a unanimous selection for first-team All-Big Ten, and Carter Coughlin was a unanimous second-team All-Big Ten selection.

Winfield is the team leader in total tackles and tied for the 13th in the Big Ten with 80, and led all Big Ten defensive backs (and ranked 4th nationally) with seven interceptions.

Coughlin recorded 9.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks. He also has four pass break-ups, two quarterback hurries, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery.
