Jordan Murphy and Amir Coffey carry Gophers to 75-73 win over Purdue

A fantastic game by the Gopher’s two best players as Minnesota upsets Purdue

NCAA Basketball: Big Ten Conference Tournament-Purdue vs Minnesota David Banks-USA TODAY Sports

What was maybe the most complete game of the season, Minnesota went out and beat Purdue 75-73 and advanced to the semi-finals of the Big Ten Tournament.

This was a game where, especially in the second half, Jordan Murphy and Amir Coffey absolutely willed the Gophers to a win over the Big Ten’s co-champ.

Murphy was a beast, scoring 27 points which is the most he has scored against a Big Ten opponent in his career. He also had 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Coffey was very aggressive in the second half driving to the hoop and ended up with 21 points.

Daniel Oturu had another double-double with 13 points, 10 rebounds. Gabe Kalscheur was 3/5 from three but most importantly he played fantastic defense on Carsen Edwards. Dupreee McBrayer only had 3 points but that starting 5 scored all 75 points for the Gophers.

A tough team who played a great game, what coincidentally was well coached.

Just a fun game that has me very excited for next weekend. But first...why not go and win the Big Ten Tournament?

Up next the Gophers get the winner of Iowa and Michigan.
