March Madness is here and the Gophers are set to face Louisville in the first round of NCAA Tournament

NCAA Basketball: Virginia at Louisville Jamie Rhodes-USA TODAY Sports

The Gophers are back in the NCAA Tournament and we get to watch them once again in the first round.

When and How Can I Watch the Gophers?

Opponent: Louisville
When: Thursday in Des Moines
TV: TBD CBS
Time: 11:15 CST

UPDATE:

The Gophers will kick off the NCAA Tournament in the very first game. 11:15 AM tip and the game will air on CBS!

So we drew Louisville and here is a little bit about what we know about the Cardinals.

Tell Me About Our Opponent?

Record: 20-13 (10-8 in ACC)
Conference: ACC
Best wins: @North Carolina, Michigan State

The Cardinals, their first year under Chris Mack, are led by Jordan Nwora who averages 17.2 ppg and 7.5 rebounds.

A very efficient team on both ends of the floor and tied for 6th in the ACC.

What if We Win?

Well if we get by our first round opponent the Gophers will face the winner of Michigan State and Bradley. This is really odd to have a conference opponent in the 2nd round. Typically the NCAA tries to avoid such a thing (in fact it used to be a rule).

The NCAA is going for a little drama with Richard Pitino’s Gophers going up against his dad’s former program who didn’t exactly leave on good terms.

Should be interesting. Who’s driving to Des Moines?
