The four players will try and defend the Big Ten’s title in the inaugural 3x3 National Championships last year in San Antonio. That team featured the Gophers’ Nate Mason.
But besides pride, the four players will also be playing for some cold hard cash. Each team will play three pool play games with $1000 on the line to the winners. The top two teams in each four team pool will advance to the Round of 16 on Sunday, and they teams will play single elimination until one champion is crowned. That team will receive $100,000 to split between their four team members.
All of the games in the Dos Equis 3x3U tournament will take place on a newly constructed court in the Mall of America rotunda beginning Friday afternoon.
