GopherSports.com

Gopher baseball ended their regular season this past weekend, taking two of three from Northwestern are now preparing for this week’s Big Ten Tournament in Omaha. The Gophers finished tied for third and ended up with 4th seed in the tournament. Their first round opponent will be Nebraska, on Wednesday evening.

The Bracket

The good news for the Gophers is that they seem to be ending the season strong having won three consecutive series and finishing with a 7-2 Big Ten record in the month of May. Patrick Fredrickson has returned to the rotation and the team appears to be getting better at just the right time.

Can they make a run in the Big Ten Tournament?

The Gopher lack the dominant pitching they had a year ago, but the hitting seems to be coming around and the pitching is solid. With Fredrickson back on the mound and if he can recapture some of his magic from a year ago, there is no reason they cannot make a run.

First up is Nebraska, who Minnesota took 2 of 3 from early in the Big Ten schedule.

Wednesday evening on BTN.
