Gopher Nugz: Mid-May Edition

All the sort of Gopher news we could find...

The long dark of the college offseason gathers, and now our watch begins. But fear not. It will end soon enough. In fact...

The North Remembers

Unless you’ve been living under some kind of rock, you are aware that Minnesota cruised right past Georgia 8-1 and have now qualified for only the second ever NCAA Super Regional in school history. The Gophers will take on LSU on Friday, and for the first time ever, Minnesota will host the Super Regional.

Now Minnesota gets to prove—again—that great softball exists north of the Mason-Dixon line.

Actually, no. Save the reading for some other time. Just watch this instead:

Long Live the King!

The Minnesota Timberwolves have named Ryan Saunders their new head coach, formally removing the interim tag. The team finalized a multi-year contract yesterday, making Saunders the youngest head coach inthe NBA.

Timberwolves fans are excited, but also have so many questions.
