Minnesota dropped their opening game in the Big Ten tournament to Nebraska last night. An ugly game where the Gophers had 2 errors, while Patrick Fredrickson hit 2 batters, walked 2, had 1 wild pitch and gave up 8 runs (6 earned) in the first 2 2⁄3 innings.
The Gopher offense could not recover and just like that the Gophers were sent to the losers bracket with a long road to get back to the title game.
But we weren’t the only top seed to lose, in fact all 4 top seeds lost on Wednesday. Which makes the path to the title game that much more challenging.
Minnesota gets 1-seed Indiana Thursday at 1:00.
Sam Thoreson takes the hill and the Gophers look to eliminated the Hoosiers.
