The Gophers eliminated the Big Ten’s #1 seed on Thursday with a 9-4 win over Indiana.

The Gopher offense, led by Eli Wilson and Jordan Kozicky, blew up for 9 runs while Sam Thoreson and Nick Lackney combined to keep the Hoosiers at bay. Indiana took a brief 2-3 lead in the 4th with a 3-run inning. But Minnesota peppered them with runs scoring in 4 of the last 5 innings.

Wilson was 3/5 with 3 runs, 2 RBIs, a double and a home run. Kozicky and Riley Smith each were 2/5 with 2 RBIs as well.

Up next, the Gophers await the loser of Nebraska and Iowa in the winners bracker. Due to severe weather Thursday night that game was postponed till Friday afternoon. The good news is that whomever they face will get just one game in between to rest. Fingers crossed that their game involves a lot of runs and a number of relief pitchers used.

Gophers play at 7:30 tonight and the game can be seen on Big Ten Network.
