Lindsay Whalen added another post player to the 2019 class in transfer Kadiatou Sissoko. Sissoko is a former 5-star recruit who spent her freshman season at Syracuse. She will have to sit out the 2019-20 season and will have three years to play three afterwards.
At 6’2”, Sissoko is a guard that has the capability to defend multiple positions. A native of France, Sissoko has international experience, playing for Les Blues in the 2018 FIBA U20 European Women’s Championship as well as the U18 French National Team in 2017. At Syracuse, she played in 22 games with one start and averaged a little over 3 points and 2 rebounds at 10 minutes per game. Sissoko also missed eight games early in the season due to injury.
From a roster composition standpoint, Sissoko’s transfer year also should help to balance scholarships after a massive 2019 class.
