In high school, Edmonds committed early to the Gophers, then he decommitted after a visiting another Big Ten school but eventually decided he wanted to row the boat and signed with Minnesota. He did not participate in any games as a true freshman and now is forced to hang up his cleats before getting to play a Big Ten snap.
According to the Pioneer Press he will be able to continue with his education on scholarship that will not count against the team cap.
