Remember all those times we annoyed you to sign up for SB Nation’s FanPulse where you get to rank the teams? Well the preseason polls have come out, and you our esteemed readers and commenters like the Minnesota Golden Gophers a lot more than the national media. I know....here’s my shocked face:

You the TDG readers and commenters ranked the Gophers #25 to start the 2019 college football season. Not utterly unrealistic, but still very very optimistic. We’ll let it slide this time.

Here is the full Top 25 poll that the people that signed up from this site voted for:

  1. Clemson
  2. Alabama
  3. Georgia
  4. Oklahoma
  5. Ohio State
  6. Michigan
  7. Notre Dame
  8. Florida
  9. Texas
  10. Texas A&M
  11. LSU
  12. Oregon
  13. Washington
  14. Penn State
  15. Utah
  16. UCF
  17. Auburn
  18. Iowa
  19. Iowa State
  20. Northwestern
  21. Miami
  22. Wisconsin
  23. Michigan State
  24. Virginia Tech
  25. Minnesota

Also Receiving Votes:

Army, Washington State, Syracuse, Nebraska, Boise State

And here is the national Preseason SB Nation Fanpulse poll which combines all the single site votes into one national poll:

Also receiving votes in that poll was: Washington State, Syracuse, Boise State, Stanford, Army, Virginia, Mississippi State, Oklahoma State, and Minnesota.

As you can see, you the TDG voters agreed with the rest of the national voters for the most part with a few exceptions. The top 16 is exactly the same with just Texas A&M and LSU flipped in our poll. Then, you see the Minnesotanness come out. Wisconsin is ranked #17 in the national poll, but just #22 in ours. Not a surprise there. The lone other change is that we obviously snuck the Gophers into the #25 spot, which comes at the expense of Nebraska who falls out of our Top 25 into the receiving votes instead of being ranked #24 nationwide. You guys are smart!

Nationally every single blog voted Clemson #1....except for Roll Bama Roll and....Rutgers’ On The Banks. Apparently most conference schools are more likely to give their conference mates a bit of a boost. While...we did the opposite. Again, not too surprised there.

As a reminder you will able to vote for the new top 25 for both our individual version and the nationwide poll after every week of the season. We will make sure to get you your voting links when they are available.

If you somehow missed the initial link and want to make sure you sign up to be able to vote for the rest of the season—-no worries. Just go ahead and SIGN UP HERE!!!

Thanks for participating in something new and fun. It will be interesting to track how our opinions change over the course of the season!
