I’m so happy! I can’t wait until I get to watch the Minnesota Golden Gophers run out onto brand new maroon & gold turf again at the end of this month. Living in Cincinnati, that’s the first time I’ll be able to enjoy the sight. But for all of you in the great State of Minnesota you have 3 options to watch your favorite team practice before then.

Why? Because the U is opening three practices to the public this fall. And the first one is tomorrow! Here are the full details:

When are the open practices?

The open practices are being held on Saturday Aug 3rd, Friday Aug 9th and Friday Aug 16th.

F.A.M.I.L.Y. Day - Saturday August 3rd

Time: Gates open at 2:30pm practice starts at 3pm

Where: TCF Bank Stadium

Other important information: F.A.M.I.L.Y. Day includes a free tailgate in the West Plaza with food, music and games. In keeping with the family theme the U is setting up inflatables and activities for kids of all ages and post-practice autographs on the field.

Charitable drives as part of F.A.M.I.L.Y. Day: For the third straight year the Gophers are hosting a diaper drive. Fans are encouraged to bring disposable diapers. All diapers collected will be donated to the Diaper Bank of Minnesota, which provides diapers and wipes to families in need through partner agencies in the Twin Cities. NOTE: Fans can also bring diapers that their little ones have grown out of, as the diaper bank will repackage them for families in need.

Minnesota is also partnering with Thrivent to support the Union Gospel Mission’s Heart for Hunger campaign. Fans coming to Family Day are encouraged to donate non-perishable stuffing that will be provided to families in need throughout our community this November.
