The Big Ten announced the 2019-20 men’s basketball schedule on Friday morning. The full 20 game slave for each team including the Minnesota Golden Gophers was revealed. For the most part, its a pretty even keeled schedule for Minnesota this season. They have two two-game homestands and two two-game road trips in their 20 games.
Once again the Big Ten schedule opens up with two December games, one home and one away for each team. Minnesota opens up the Big Ten season Monday December 9th with a trip to Iowa City to take on the Iowa Hawkeyes. Minnesota gets their home game six days later when they host the Ohio State Buckeyes on Sunday December 15th.
After taking the holidays off from conference play, Minnesota restarts conference play with arguably it’s toughest stretch on the schedule. The Gophers head to Purdue Boilermakers on January 2nd before returning home to face Northwestern Wildcats. Minnesota next heads to East Lansing for a game against Michigan State Spartans before returning home to the Barn to host Michigan Wolverines and Penn State Nittany Lions.
A few other highlights include the Gophers hosting Wisconsin Badgers on Wednesday February 5th, and headed to Madison on Sunday March 1st. Iowa’s return to the Barn comes Sunday February 16th. The Gophers will finish the Big Ten regular season on March 8th when they host Nebraska Cornhuskers.
The full schedule is below. @UStreet will have a full schedule breakdown early next week.
