Week one of the 2019 NFL season is complete and all six former Minnesota Golden Gophers in NFL rosters played for their various teams in Week 1. Here is a recap on how they all did.
On Active Rosters Heading into Week 1:
Maxx Williams— Tight End— Arizona Cardinals
Week 1 vs Detroit Lions
Week 2 @ Baltimore Ravens
Williams played 49 snaps against the Lions with 22 coming on offense and 27 on special teams. He was only targeted once, but made the most out of it recording one catch for 15 yards in the tie with Detroit.
Tramaine Brock—Defensive Back—Arizona Cardinals
Week 1 vs Detroit Lions
Week 2 @ Baltimore Ravens
Brock started at corner for Arizona and led all former Gophers this week with 77 snaps played. 72 of them were on defense with the other five on special teams. Brock recorded three tackles and had two pass defenses in the tie against Detroit.
Eric Murray—Safety—Cleveland Browns
Week 1 vs Tennessee Titans
Week 2 @ New York Jets (MNF)
Murray was involved in 25 snaps against the Titans with 11 coming on defense and 14 on special teams. He did not record any stats in the Browns loss to the Titans.
Damien Wilson—Linebacker—Kansas City Chiefs
Week 1 @ Jacksonville Jaguars
Week 2 @ Oakland Raiders
Wilson started the game for KC and played in 48 snaps with all but one coming on defense and the latter on special teams. Wilson recorded five tackles and forced one fumble in the Chiefs big win at Jacksonville.
De’Vondre Campbell—Linebacker—Atlanta Falcons
Week 1 @ Minnesota Vikings
Week 2 vs Philadelphia Eagles (SNF)
Campbell played 58 snaps against the Vikings with 53 coming on defense and the other five on special teams. He led Atlanta with six tackles in the loss to the Vikings.
Blake Cashman—Linebacker—New York Jets
Week 1 vs Buffalo Bills
Week 2 vs Cleveland Browns (MNF)
Cashman was in the game for the Jets for 38 plays—22 on defense and 16 special teams snaps and recorded one tackle, which was for loss in the Jets 17-16 loss to Buffalo.
All six players will be back in action in Week 2.
