Things are starting to get interesting. This is the first week of picks following a member of the staff (cough zips cough) getting a pick completely wrong. It’s also the week where I have to figure out how to score Gopher Nation’s “Waffle House pick” from last week. While I ponder that, let’s look at how the staff feels about Georgia Southern.
In a GIF?
Georgia Southern may be unique with their offense, but no one is feeling stressed about this one for the Gophers.
This week’s thoughts
Blake Ruane: Minnesota gets a chance to flex its muscles on both sides of the ball, if not quite in dominating fashion. The Gophers take care of business and P.J. Fleck finishes the non-conference schedule 3-0, as is tradition.
GoAUpher: No more stupid. It’s time.
gopherguy05: The Gophers look like they should against an outmatched opponent making the third time the charm. This one is never in doubt and they get a week to recalibrate before the Big Ten onslaught begins
Gopher Nation: The offense really gets going this week and the Gophers roll. This will be the real confidence booster leading into the bye week and Big Ten games. Another baby step forward, but the Gophers dominate.
HipsterGopher: The Gophers have never played Georgia Southern so I’m using the score from last years Quick Lane Bowl, because Georgia Tech is close enough. NOTE: My bit for guessing the scores this year will be to match them up with previous Minnesota games. I’m going to be extremely correct on all of these.
mowe0018: I once heard a rhyme that went a little like this,”Option, option is no fun. Option, option hurt someone.” Please let this not be the case Saturday afternoon.
UStreet: In Week 3 the dumb is drastically reduced.
wildcat00: Going 3-0 in the non-con is just what PJ Fleck does, right?
White Speed Receiver: 3 mistakes in the first half against Fresno were the difference between needing highlight plays and a laugher. Georgia Southern may like to GATA, but they’re not as talent as our opponents last week. GoAUpher Note: WSR is on a roll, earning a second straight Homer of the Week crown. Someone else will pick a larger margin of victory eventually I’m sure.
zipsofakron: The Gophers finally get to let it rip on offense and let loose the frustration they’ve built up over the first two games. Not going to be a good day to be an Eagle.
