The string of decent Minnesota Golden Gophers game times will continue at least another two weeks. The Big Ten announced Monday that the conference opener for both the Gophers and the Purdue Boilermakers will be a 2:30 kick on September 28th and the game will air on either ESPN or ESPN2. It will be the sixth consecutive non-11AM start for Minnesota dating back to the game against Northwestern last November.

Minnesota comes into the game with a 3-0 record after non-conference play. Purdue comes in at 1-2 after opening by blowing at 31-13 lead at Nevada and losing on a freshman walk-on’s 56 yard field goal as time expired. They then hosted Vanderbilt Commodores and picked up 42-24 victory on the strength of 509 passing yards and 5 TDs from Elijah Sindelar.

Purdue dropped their final non-conference game last Saturday to the TCU Horned Frogs 34-13 as Sindelar missed the game with a concussion.

Both teams will have a well timed off-week this weekend to heal up some injuries and hopefully both be at full power as they open their Big Ten schedules on the 28th.
