Week two of the 2019 NFL season is complete and all six former Minnesota Golden Gophers in NFL rosters played for their various teams in Week 1. Here is a recap on how they all did.
On Active Rosters Heading into Week 1:
Maxx Williams— Tight End— Arizona Cardinals
Week 2 @ Baltimore Ravens
Week 3 vs Carolina Panthers
Williams played 32 snaps against hos former team with 14 coming on offense. He was only targeted once, but made the most out of it recording one catch for 21 yards in the loss to Baltimore.
Tramaine Brock—Defensive Back—Arizona Cardinals
Week 2 @ Baltimore Ravens
Week 3 vs Carolina Panthers
Brock started at corner for Arizona and led all former Gophers this week with 73 snaps played, all of them on defense. Brock recorded five tackles with one of them for a loss in the loss to Baltimore.
Eric Murray—Safety—Cleveland Browns
Week 2 @ New York Jets (MNF)
Week 3 vs Los Angeles Rams (SNF)
Murray was involved in 53 snaps against the Jets with 42 coming on defense. He recorded one solo and two assited tackles in the Browns win.
Damien Wilson—Linebacker—Kansas City Chiefs
Week 2 @ Oakland Raiders
Week 3 vs Baltimore Ravens
Wilson started the game for KC and played in 51 snaps with all but one coming on defense and the latter on special teams. Wilson recorded two solo tackles, three assisted tackles and recorded a pass defense in the win over Oakland.
De’Vondre Campbell—Linebacker—Atlanta Falcons
Week 2 vs Philadelphia Eagles (SNF)
Week 3 @ Indianapolis Colts
Campbell played 71 snaps against the Eagles with 69 coming on defense and the other two on special teams. He led Atlanta with six solo tackles and added two assisted tackles in the win over Philly.
Blake Cashman—Linebacker—New York Jets
Week 2 vs Cleveland Browns (MNF)
Week 3 @ New England Patriots
Cashman earned his first NFL start in Week 2 and played a ton participating in 76 snaps—69 on defense and 7 special teams. Cashman has his best game (out of two) as a pro recording two tackles, assisting on four more and earning half a sack in the loss to the Browns.
All six players will be back in action in Week 2.
