Welcome to the Minnesota Football Statistical, where we discuss the stats real or imagined from the previous week’s game.
The soon to be weekly column will kick off in earnest next week because Week 1 is garbage for trying to conceptualize how good an offense or defense might be during the season. Everyone is playing their first game of the season, unless you’re suspended for some reason or another, and sloppiness is high. To wit, the column this week is a single picture that was the drive futility of Minnesota’s offense against an FCS opponent.
To read this chart, note that each line starts at the beginning field position where the origin is Minnesota’s endzone and the endpoint is the total yards gained relative to the starting point. Punting is winning and Minnesota won a lot in the first week.
