Minnesota Football: Gophers in the NFL Week 3

Week three of the 2019 NFL season is complete and we have added a new member to the group as we head into Week 4! Welcome back Marcus Sherels! Here is a recap on how everyone did in Week 3.

Maxx Williams— Tight End— Arizona Cardinals

Week 3 vs Carolina Panthers

Week 4 vs Seattle Seahawks

Williams played 32 snaps against the Panthers with 14 coming on offense. This was his first week where he did not record any stats.

Tramaine Brock—Defensive Back—Arizona Cardinals

Week 3 vs Carolina Panthers

Week 4 vs Seattle Seahawks

Brock started at corner for Arizona and played 52 snaps, all of them on defense. Brock recorded four tackles in the loss to Carolina.

Eric Murray—Safety—Cleveland Browns

Week 3 vs Los Angeles Rams (SNF)

Week 4 @ Baltimore Ravens

Murray led the Browns in snaps on Sunday night with 75 total. 64 of them came on defense as Cleveland narrowly lost to the Rams. He recorded three solo and two assisted tackles including one for a loss and added a pass defense in his best game this season.

Damien Wilson—Linebacker—Kansas City Chiefs

Week 3 vs Baltimore Ravens

Week 4 @ Detroit Lions

Wilson started the game for KC and played in 65 snaps all on defense. Wilson recorded four solo tackles, one assisted tackle and a half sack in the win over Baltimore.

De’Vondre Campbell—Linebacker—Atlanta Falcons

Week 3 @ Indianapolis Colts

Week 4 vs Tennessee Titans

Campbell played 59 snaps against the Colts with 55 coming on defense and the other four on special teams. He recorded four solo tackles and one assisted tackle in the loss to Indy.

Blake Cashman—Linebacker—New York Jets

Week 3 @ New England Patriots

Week 4 Bye

Cashman earned another start for the Jets and let all Gophers with 81 snaps played last week with 69 of them coming on defense. Cashman continues to impress with five solo tackles, one assisted tackle and one tackle for a loss in the loss to New England.

Welcome Back!!

The Vikings this week resigned Marcus Sherels to be their punt returner after Chad Beebe went in IR. Sherels was cut with an injury settlement by the New Orleans Saints in camp and is now back to 100% healthy and will step in immediately and return punts for the Vikings in their Week 4 game at the Chicago Bears.
