Minnesota Golden Gophers redshirt sophomore quarterback Tanner Morgan has been named Big Ten Co-Offensive Player of the Week after throwing for 396 passing yards and four touchdowns against the Purdue Boilermakers in a 38-31 victory on Saturday.
He shares the honor with Penn State quarterback Sean Clifford.
Morgan is the third Golden Gopher this season to be recognized as a Player of the Week by the Big Ten, following Antoine Winfield Jr. in Week 2 (Defensive Player of the Week) and Tyler Johnson in Week 3 (Co-Offensive Player of the Week).

Morgan completed 21-of-22 pass attempts for a 95.5% completion percentage, the best single-game mark by a Big Ten quarterback in conference history with a minimum of 20 attempts. His 396 passing yards are the most by a Minnesota quarterback since Adam Weber racked up 416 against Michigan State in 2009 on Halloween. Four passing touchdowns are also a single-game career-high for Morgan, who is now 8-2 as a starter at Minnesota.
Tanner Morgan completed his first 12 passes today.
